Allen J. Lowe

Allen J. Lowe is a senior partner in Ashcraft & Gerel, LLP. He has been with the firm for over 30 years, concentrating his practice on work-related injury cases in the District of Columbia. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Lowe received his J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University in 1976 where he was a member of the Law Review and received his undergraduate degree in political science in 1973.

Mr. Lowe is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia as well before the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the District of Columbia Circuit, the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He maintains membership in the District of Columbia, Maryland and American Bar Associations as well as the American Association for Justice.

Mr. Lowe has been with Ashcraft & Gerel since 1977 and over the past three decades has served as a consultant to the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commisions (IAIABC), participated in television and radio panels focusing on workers’ compensation law, and is the published author of an article dealing with the highly technical issues of general contractor liablility and “statutory” employment with its correlative liability for workers’ compensation and immunity from third party liability.

Mr. Lowe is an AV preeminent rated lawyer, was named to The Best Lawyers in America and speaks frequently with local unions, offering his specialized expertise in D.C. workers’ compensation.
