BIO

Faith Deredge is a Prelitigation Associate in the general negligence practice. Faith is based in the Silver Spring office. Prior to joining Ashcraft & Gerel she began her legal career working for a solo practitioner, during which time she gained invaluable knowledge and experience representing clients in the areas of personal injury, family law, criminal defense and business law. Faith has litigated numerous cases throughout Maryland and has obtained favorable results for her clients. Most recently, Ms. Deredge assisted in securing a notable settlement for a pregnant woman who suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning as a result of her landlord’s failure to properly maintain a water heater in a commercial unit.

Faith earned her BA in Criminal Justice & Criminology and Sociology from the University of Maryland College Park in 2014 and her JD from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2019. While in law school, Ms. Deredge was an active leader in the community. She was elected as Vice President of the Black Law Student Association. She also served as a staff editor of the Temple Law Political and Civil Rights Society and Practice Points editor for the Minority Trial Committee of the American Bar Association Litigation Section. In addition to her many commitments, she also volunteered for the National Lawyers Guild Expungement clinic.

As a law student, she was the recipient of multiple honors and awards including the Carl Singley Scholarship, the Horn-Tucker Scholarship, and Temple Law’s Black Law Students Association Scholarship. She also received awards and recognition from the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and the Women’s Lawyer Division of the National Bar Association. Her previous work experience includes positions with the Philadelphia City Council, Pennsylvania Innocence Project, and the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Outside the Courtroom

Faith enjoys traveling, exploring the food scenes in different cities, going to concerts and shows and spending time with her family, friends and dog Lola.
