Johnson & Johnson announced today that it is recalling a lot of talcum powder which tested positive for asbestos, a known carcinogen. This admission comes just months after company CEO Alex Gorsky assured consumers “We unequivocally believe that our talc, our baby powder, does not contain asbestos.” Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. will also voluntarily recall a single lot of Johnson’s baby powder.

Ashcraft & Gerel is leading the overall nationwide litigation alleging that regular use of Johnson & Johnson talcum powder products causes ovarian cancer.
