Attorney Parfitt Selected to Leadership Position in ParaGard IUD Litigation
For years, patients who have opted for a ParaGard IUD have complained about serious and unexpected side effects caused by device breakage. When one or both copper IUD arms breaks off, a patient may have to undergo surgery such as a hysterectomy or laparotomy. Multiple cases involving ParaGard IUDs have been consolidated into a multidistrict litigation (MDL) in a Georgia District Court under Judge Leigh Martin May. Attorney Michelle Parfitt, who has storied experience in MDL cases, has been named to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (PSC). She will be joined by Ashcraft & Gerel attorneys James F.
